A striking sky-blue field sets this hand-knotted Afghan rug apart, carrying the fine Persian-style Herati diamond lattice in burgundy, gold and ivory tribal motifs. An exceptionally wide, layered multi-band border frames the field, showing the precise weave the Herat region is celebrated for. Hand-knotted on a wool foundation, the colour is vivid and well preserved and the pile soft and supple. The cool ground with warm accents makes it an easy, finely detailed anchor for a living room, dining room or bedroom. A one-of-a-kind vintage piece.
