This vintage 1970s hand-knotted rug is covered edge to edge in a dense repeating Boteh — the classic teardrop paisley motif known locally as Badam Gul ("almond flower") — a design lineage that runs from Persian weaving through Afghan and Central Asian rug-making traditions. Hundreds of small paisley forms in cream and rust fill a deep navy field, framed by a bold red border of the same motif at larger scale. Woven from natural wool with earthy, saturated tones.
