About this rug

Woven in Afghanistan, this large 8'4" x 16' antique rug is a Baluch tribal weaving in warm camel and gold. A vertical chain of concentric diamond medallions fills the field, each ringed by latch-hooks and small stars, while broad borders of hooked zigzags and boxed motifs frame the whole. Decades of use have softened the pile to a gentle, faded glow — the golds mellowed, the browns deepened — the kind of honest wear collectors prize. At sixteen feet it is a true oversized, room-defining piece, suited to a long living room, open-plan space, or gallery hallway. Hand-knotted in pure wool by Baluch weavers, it is entirely one of a kind, with only a single example available.
