About this rug

Antique Distressed Bashiri Rug – 6 x 9'6 ft (183 x 290 cm)
This rare antique rug was hand-knotted in the 1930s in Kunduz, Afghanistan, and features the traditional Bashiri design with a beautifully faded, distressed appearance that only decades of natural aging can create. It’s a true collector’s piece, appreciated for its subtle elegance, minimalist tribal detail, and historical character.

The rug has no pile, making it lightweight and ideal for layered boho interiors or minimalist spaces. Its deeply muted tones include a blend of terracotta brown, sand, soft taupe, dark cocoa, tan, and faded ivory, woven into a geometric layout filled with small-scale medallions, repeating lattice patterns, and tribal border motifs.
