About this rug
Hand-knotted in the 1960s, this rug is worked in a Persian-style Kashan design: a lobed, cusped central medallion with fine scrollwork sits on an ivory field densely covered edge to edge in delicate floral vines, blossoms and leaves — the refined, closely drawn curvilinear pattern that made Kashan one of the most recognized names in Persian carpet weaving. A teal-blue border, patterned with the same fine florals, frames the piece and grounds the pale field.
Hand-knotted in wool, the rug has an elegant, formal character suited to living rooms, dining rooms, or any space wanting a refined, traditional medallion carpet. At 5'0" x 8'2", it's a versatile mid-size piece.
