This hand-knotted tribal rug fills a deep madder-red field with rows of small stylized flowering shrubs and vase motifs, each one picked out in a different shade — gold, ivory, orange, forest green, indigo and rust — so the whole field reads like a scattered garden rather than a repeating pattern. An ivory rosette main border and several polychrome guard stripes frame it, closing into a bold banded outer edge and long wool fringe at both ends. The color is the draw here: saturated, varied, and clearly hand-dyed, with the small shifts across the field that only natural dyes give. Each shrub is drawn slightly differently, which is the mark of a weaver working freehand.
