An antique hand-knotted runner covered end to end in a fine diamond lattice, each small lozenge holding its own floral or star motif in the Persian village manner. The palette layers madder red, indigo blue, gold, and ivory into a richly textured field, wrapped by a stack of reciprocal geometric borders that carry the eye down its length. The dense allover drawing and softly worn pile give it genuine age and warmth underfoot. At 3'6" x 9'1", it is ideal for a hallway, entry, or the side of a bed. Hand-knotted from wool in good antique condition, with soft handle and mellowed color. One of a kind.
