About this rug

Handwoven vintage Afghan Baluchi kilim with a bold 5-band field alternating red & gold/amber panels. Gold bands feature spectacular paired facing rooster/peacock bird figures — vivid, expressive and highly detailed. Red bands carry diamond motifs & stylized cross figures with comb projections. Dense black border packed with ivory hexagonal rosettes & multicolor diamond chains on all sides.
Flat weft-faced weave, wool on wool, fringed ends. The large bold rooster figures on gold ground are exceptionally rare in Afghan kilim weaving — a standout collector & decorator piece with strong folk art energy and outstanding tribal character.
