About this rug

Antique Afghan Baluchi Rug – 4'6 x 9'3 ft (137 x 282 cm)
This striking tribal rug was hand-knotted in the 1970s in Herat, Afghanistan, by Baluchi weavers from the Taimani tribe, known for their bold geometric motifs and refined weaving techniques. The rug features a traditional Taimani design, showcasing a beautifully structured layout filled with symbolic motifs that represent protection, unity, and tribal identity.

The elongated format is ideal for hallways or long spaces, featuring an all-over geometric pattern in a warm and timeless palette of deep red, navy blue, burgundy, charcoal, and hints of ivory and soft orange. Its intricate borders frame the richly detailed central field, creating a sense of balance and rhythm that is both functional and decorative.
