About this rug

Afghan Taimani Rug 152x252 cm | Hand Knotted Wool Baluchi Carpet | Turkmen Gul Design | Tribal Nomadic Red Oriental Rug | Living Room Decor

This antique Afghan Taimani rug was hand-knotted in the 1940s in the Zabul region of Afghanistan. Measuring 152x252 cm (approximately 5x8'3 ft), it features the classic Tekke Turkmen gul pattern, a powerful tribal motif deeply rooted in the heritage of Baluchi and Turkmen weaving traditions.

Woven with 100% wool and natural dyes, the rug showcases a warm, earthy palette of rich red, brick, black, and faded rust. The elegant repetition of guls throughout the field, paired with a border of diamond and rosette motifs, gives the piece balance and movement. This rug is ideal for adding authentic character to living rooms, studies, or meditation spaces.
