A beautifully composed and richly detailed vintage Afghan pile runner featuring five large square medallions stacked vertically down a warm camel and ivory central field — each one a dark burgundy scalloped square frame enclosing a fine geometric diamond lattice interior in teal, red, dusty blue, and green, connected by small cross and arrow forms that link the medallions into a continuous, unified vertical composition.
The camel and warm ivory ground between and around the medallions carries bold geometric arrow and chevron forms in dusty blue, teal, crimson, and olive — flanking the central medallion column on both sides with strong, confident tribal forms that fill the field without ever crowding the central composition. The interplay between the warm camel ground, the dark burgundy medallion frames, and the cool teal and blue geometric fills creates a wonderfully rich and balanced palette that is warm, earthy, and deeply tribal.
The border is dense and well-proportioned — a wide dark burgundy and black outer frame carries a continuous repeating rosette and floral motif in pink, ivory, and red running the full length of the runner on both long sides, precise and finely detailed.
