This is a genuinely exceptional and collectible piece that sits at the intersection of tribal folk art and devotional textile tradition.
The central ivory field is dominated by a tall vertical sequence of five stacked mosque arch and mihrab forms, each one depicted with remarkable architectural detail — pointed arched niches in dark brown, navy, and striped ivory, each containing a finely rendered striped column interior suggesting the pillared hall of a mosque interior. The arches are stacked one above the other from bottom to top of the field, creating a soaring, almost three-dimensional perspective effect that draws the eye upward through layer upon layer of architectural space. Flanking the central arch column on both sides are further smaller arched niches in the same striped and geometric style, adding depth and complexity to the architectural scene.
At the very top of the composition sits a wider mihrab panel in deep crimson red with three small arch niches side by side — a traditional prayer niche format that crowns the entire architectural composition. Small rosette and star motifs scatter throughout the ivory field. An inner border frame in warm burnt orange carries a continuous repeating scroll and diamond motif in dark brown, cleanly framing the central scene.
